When
cruising around the Turkish coastline, Turkiz Kemer Marina should certainly
be on your agenda. Not only is its location excellent for visiting many of
Turkey's most splendid sights, but the marina itself is maintained to a high
level and offers all the most modern facilities. Just south along the coast
from Antalya, deciding to stay here won't be a problem, but for how long
might well be.
The marina is managed as a 24 hours per day, seven days a week service and its staff have over 20 years of experience. Turkiz Kemer is a member of the Eastern Mediterranean Marinas Association (EMMA), which offers discounts to its members. An EMMA card can be obtained free of charge from the marina office as long as you have a minimum one year's mooring contract with another associated marina. You will then receive a 20 per cent reduction when you visit other EMMA marinas, as well as deals and discounts from other companies and services which are regularly updated.
Turkiz Kemer has excellent facilities which will ensure a comfortable stay. As an international entry port, officials are on hand when you arrive to complete the necessary formalities. There is water and electricity connection for all berths and air conditioning is available to rent when summer's high temperatures hit. Free toilets and showers are available in three different buildings across the marina with continuous hot water. Shopping can be done in the nearby supermarket which supplies fresh bread, daily newspapers and an international food and drink selection. An ATM can be found nearby.
The marina offers a free telephone and satellite television service at every mooring berth and if you don't have your own television set, these can be rented from the Marina office for a very reasonable fee. Wireless internet connection is also available and you can rent or buy wireless cards from the Marina office. The laundry service is also reasonable, or you can make use of the self-service laundry room available from October to April. The Marina office provides a postal service and when you register you will be given a pigeon hole for your own mail. There is also a comprehensive storage service available.
The
marina delivers a wealth of boat maintenance and technical services. Divers
can be hired for hull inspection and diesel and fuel-oil is available at the
marina entrance. All kinds of boat parts are available or can be ordered by
the ship chandlery and the marina has a technical workshop with staff that
have at least 15 years experience under the supervision of a yacht
specialist engineer. Woodwork, deck repairs and new constructions in pine,
mahogany, iroko and teak are available, as are painting services, which are
licensed by the International Paints as an Osmosis Treatment Centre for all
types of hull and superstructure jobs. The marina has a 60 tonne lift and
can offer a range of electrical servicing and repairs as well as major
engine overhaul on all makes.
When it's time to unwind, the marina has an excellent restaurant and bar with an attractive terrace for al fresco dining. The Navigator Restaurant offers both Turkish and world cuisine prepared by master chefs with many years of international experience, with daily fresh fish, seafood, seasonal salads and the Navigator Soup on offer. The Navigator Bar offers a range of cocktails, beers and fine wines, with a half-price happy hour in the afternoon. A swimming platform is located within the marina or you can take advantage of the free tennis court and table tennis. There is also a yacht club where you can relax in front of a DVD, or read one of the many books available in the library.
