Netsel Marmaris

Netsel Marmaris marina is located right next to the historic town of Marmaris on the south-western corner of Turkey. The coastal shoreline in this region provides some of the most beautiful and unspoilt cruising spots in the world and the famous island of Rhodes is only 25 miles away to the south.

The marina is famed as one of the best in Turkey because of its position, which ensures safety and security. Its proximity to the town and 24 hour surveillance ensure you will come to no risk from crime, while the dock itself is unaffected by storms as the breakwater provides total protection from waves or surges and the north-westerly winds. This is because the entire marina, of nearly one hectare, is enclosed by two concrete breakwaters.

Netsel Marmaris features a floating concrete docking system to which yachts are tied by the stern. Berths are spacious enough to allow visitors to manoeuvre their boats comfortably and the piers are made of Swedish patented floating concrete pontoons, which are firmly anchored to concrete blocks for safe mooring. The marina provides room for 720 yachts on the water and 50 in dry docks.

The maximum length for a boat at Netsel Marmaris is 80 metres and the bay has a maximum depth of 18 metres and minimum of 3.5 metres. Water and electricity are both available for free on the water or on shore. There is free wireless internet and computers for use in the marina office, which also has a pubic telephone and supplies a daily weather report. Laundry is collected from and returned to your boat.

Marine maintenance specialists are on hand for all your boating needs and the marina boat yard offers services such as mechanics, carpentry, painting and anti-fouling, welding, sail repair, marine electronics and life raft inspection. A petrol station is located on the inner breakwater.

But the real gems of this mooring are the facilities offered both by the marina and in the nearby town. The marina has its own complex which includes a large contemporary shopping mall, an International Yacht Club, ten restaurants of which seven have bars, two cafes, a travel agent, a supermarket, an amphitheatre, a swimming pool and a tennis court. There is also a daily market which will deliver your goods directly to your boat, should you require. Several ATMs can be found around the complex.

As a simple alternative to the marina, you can head into town by taking a short walk or catch one of the 24 hour taxis from outside the marina entrance. Marmaris is a very unspoilt and relaxed town where you can chat to its friendly people, visit its historic castle once invaded by Alexander the Great and consume the good fresh foods and delicious local wines. At night time there is plenty of choice for restaurants and bars, many with live entertainment on offer. If you want to go further afield, staff at the marina reception can give advice on itineraries for local and out of town tours. Inland excursions are organised during the winter months.
